Now the millions of Kroger shoppers from coast to coast, and north to south, can get personalized recipe and menu recommendations according to their likes and dislikes, plus their complete grocery list, all available to purchase through Kroger.

We may be relatively new in the US, but at Jow, we’ve spent the past four years building our recommendation engine and being a part of the innovation and inventory management strategies for French grocery giants, including Carrefour, Intermarché, Chronodrive, Auchan and more. With over 4,000 stores in France available to over 4 million users on Jow, we quietly launched in the US earlier this year and spent our time understanding the unique grocer landscape and American food and shopping habits. We also built our base of hungry, but busy families and people in need of a fresh way to approach meal planning, shopping and cooking.

We now have a few hundred thousand people in our Jow US community and are overwhelmed by the positive feedback for our recipes and service. We’ve learned that Americans like chicken, especially BBQ chicken, garlic, cilantro, tacos and spice way more than our French users. Their “aha!” moment still comes with the automatic cart generation with ingredients adapted to their household size, and recently, our US users have loved being able to add their favorite sustainable countertop cleaners and organic paper towels to their cart for easy checkout with Kroger.

With Kroger opening its API to us, we’ve been able to augment the grocery ecosystem and act as an innovative and nimble satellite company for them. We offer a highly curated, highly customizable solution that helps them acquire and retain loyal users, reach new demographics, understand national and regional food/product trends, and manage inventory in unique ways. Basically, we help big grocers increase and meet demand in the way that’s best for them.

There’s a famous quote “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”

It’s super important that bigger companies partner with fast and responsive start-ups, (like us!), to exponentially elevate the entire industry.

We are grateful to have a partner like Kroger with whom we can go farther in providing millions of Americans, every day, with the ultimate meal and household essentials recommendation platform and hyper-personalized shopping experience.
